Last year we trained our own Summer Missionaries and had only two from America
to join us for our summer ministries.
This year was a summer with a difference! Our local training did not materialize.
Little did we realize that God was going to do something remarkably different.
God sent 9 Summer Missionaries from CEF Ireland and the Student Thunder group of
sixteen from CEF Seattle Washington, USA to minister from Morant Point (west of our
island) to Negril (east of our island); from the north, down to the south and also
included Manchester and Clarendon (interior). In all, there were some 2,000 children
who were counselled during the 3 weeks of special ministries. Do pray with us that
these children will grow in the knowledge of the Lord.
Children and adults were impacted by the lives and ministry of the Summer
Missionaries. Here is a summary of some of the reports received from our Parish
Supervisors: "The CEF missionaries have left a great impact on many lives. Personally,
I have been blessed by the work they have done, and can only say
"To God be the glory". " The Summer Missionaries made a great impact on the lives
of all the boys and girls…they were very effective in their presentations.
The children responded positively to the gospel. They were truly a blessing".
