Good News Club Pictures

Weekly Good News Clubs® around Jamaica reach some 17,000 children islandwide. At present, clubs are held in 57 homes and 104 schools. It is our desire to expand our ministries to children, wherever they are…even in police stations!

At the annual Children’s Expo, May 11 – 14, 2006 (where each day thousands of children from around the island attended), one afternoon, a police sergeant visited the Jamaica Child Evangelism Fellowship booth and asked whether he could get some assistance with a children’s club he had started at his police station in an inner city. Many of the children who attended had been affected by loss of a relative through some form of violence.

At the same time, a young graduate teacher (and TCE graduate) visited our office and enquired if we had anything she could assist us with. So we asked her if she could help the police station with the Club. She willingly agreed and made a visit there. Since that first Sunday, the volunteer has been conducting and using CEF materials in the children’s club.

The club is soon to be registered as a Good News Club ®. The police sergeant is to begin TCE training classes in September. The children are responding to the Sunday afternoon Club and eagerly look forward to hearing Bible Lessons, Scripture Memorization and participating in other activities. We praise God for the opportunity and the many doors that are being opened for us to reach out to children.
