Christian Youth In Action – July 2006
The CYIA training programme was conducted by the Kingston & St. Andrew chapter,
local director Mrs. Sharon Howard and three Instructor Of Teachers (IOT).
Twelve young people from seven churches attended the training. At the sessions
CEF Headquarters, Overseas Summer Missionaries, Melissa Caminiti and Christianna
Lewis participated in the demonstration/skits.
The CYIA trainees after the training conducted 5-Day Clubs in various inner
city areas. Kay-Ann aged 17 said “I was particularly blessed to have participated
in CYIA and that she can now Lead a Child to Christ. Each club day I was as excited
as the over 40 children who attended. I was truly blessed as we were ministering to
children in a volatile area of Kingston”.
Another group of trainees expressed their joy having participated in
CYIA and said they were also blessed ministering to children for the
first time in an inner city area. At the end of the week of 5-Day Clubs,
the students presented the children with Certificates of Participation,
Wonder Devotionals, pencils and excercise books.
